Financing and Innovation in Global Health Summit

Setting the stage for global health We created a comprehensive identity, communication, and environmental design program for the inaugural Financing and Innovation in Global Health (FIGH) Forum, held at the US Institute of Peace in Washington, DC.

The event was developed to help foster relationships between policy makers, healthcare leaders, global health ministers, and potential funders, with a goal of providing care to underserved communities.

We wanted to establish a sensibility that didn’t look like the typical medical or financial conference.

We based the visual approach on cues taken from the designs of engraved banknotes and historical medical illustrations. The aesthetics overlapped perfectly. Bright colors and typography made the approach contemporary.

The editorial and visual program was applied to a wide range of environmental designs, digital communications, and traditional printed pieces to provide a consistent, engaging, and spirited experience.

The graphic approach drew the attendees in and through the space.

As part of the program, we also developed the environmental design of the “Innovation Galaxy” venue, where exhibitors could hold offsite conversations.

The Innovation Galaxy space had at one time been a parking garage — all gray concrete and raw columns.
It's nice to see what one can do with a few well-placed lights, projected text, and column-concealing standalone structures.
