New Jersey 9/11 Memorial

Inscribing an “Empty Sky” We worked with longtime collaborators Schwartz Architects to create the inscriptions for the competition-winning memorial design, located in Liberty State Park, New Jersey

We wanted the letters to be as large as possible, and our challenge was to arrange the names to be spaced evenly and with a consistent rhythm — and avoid having panel seams split individual names.

Our designers worked with officials and family member representatives to present and refine the design plans in what became a moving, emotional, and incredibly rewarding experience.

Sunsets produce an unexpected and compelling halo effect

The inscriptions are etched into marine grade stainless steel panels.

It required craftsmanship and sensitivity to produce flowing inscriptions that seem to fit effortlessly within the allocated spaces.
