Texaco

Helping an American icon celebrate 100 years We were commissioned to develop a book and website commemorating Texaco’s 100th anniversary.

We had unfettered access to Texaco’s subterranean climate-controlled Bond-worthy archival bunker, staffed by one-time Smithsonian curators and filled with thousands of pristine artifacts chronicling the history of this legendary American brand.

There were a lot of interesting stories to tell.

Our biggest challenge came in editing down the contents and presenting them within an engaging narrative.

We had tens of thousands of archived artifacts from which to choose. The curatorial staff helped us navigate our way.

Two versions of the book were produced; a standard fold-over softback volume and a more elaborate casebound version.

The book includes a bonus poster, tracing the evolution of the iconic Texaco Star logo.

The program also included the design of an anniversary microsite which enabled us to include additional historic artifacts.
